“Hope springs eternal; it’s a new baseball season …”

You can hear the burst of optimism from the loyal, the faithful
from “the Windy city”, the Bay area, from Texas and Florida, Bean-Town, K.C. and yes, Philly too.

Maybe this year, the good guys, the home team will finally be around at clutch-time.

The injuries have healed, the trades have been made, the Free Agents have all signed for the big bucks. The batting eyes have been honed; the fast-ball, curve and slider are in mid-season form.
The turf is green and manicured, the pitcher’s mound is set as is the razin bag, the basepaths, batter’s box and home plate are freshly painted white. The bats are all shined and the new, fresh baseballs are all white.
