The Phillies lost their 6th Game of the season April 10th, a 5-3 loss to the Atlanta Braves in Atlanta.    Jimmy Rollins was 3-4 in his latest hitting streak, Aaron Rowand was 3-5, Ryan Howard 2-4 and David Bell 2-3 but it wasn’t enough to push enough runs accross the plate to defeat the Braves.

Brett Myers started for the Phils giving up 3 runs on 7 hits but Ryan Franklin got tagged with the loss as Atlanta got the go-ahead run in the seventh on a Marcus Giles solo homer.

As the Phils were losing, so were the Pittsburgh Pirates losing to the L.A. Dodgers by an 8-3 score.  The Dodgers scored 8 runs on 11 hits while Pittsburgh got their 3 runs on 14 hits.  The Bucs left 13 runners stranded.   Odalis Perez (1-0) got the win having hurled 5 1/3 innings giving up 1 run on 6 hits while losing Pittsburgh starter Zack Duke got the loss pitching 5 innings and giving up 7 runs, including two 2 run homers.

But, while the the scheduler of ballgames had mercy on the Phils giving them an open date between games with the Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh notched their 2nd win of the season, a 7-6 victory over L.A.  Pittsburgh knocked out 4 homeruns, 3 solo blasts and one 2 run shot.  Ian Snell pitched 5 innings giving up 6 runs, 10 hits for Pittsburgh.  Salomon Torres (1-1) notched the win in 2 innings of shutout relief.  Closer Mike Gonzales got the save as the Dodgers were shut down the rest of the way.   Lance Carter took the loss for the Dodgers in relief of starter Jae Seo.
