The Phillies completed their sweep of Cincinnati on Sunday night with a tight 2-1 victory over the Reds in 12 innings thanks to 7 good innings from starter Brett Myers (2-1), air-tight relief from Rheal Cormier, Ryan Franklin, Arthur Rhodes, winning pitcher Geoff Geary (1-0) and Tom Gordon’s (2-1, S13) 13th save.

Ryan Howard (12 Homers, .302 BA) gave the Phils all of the power they needed in this one with 2 solo round-trippers; in the 8th to tie the game and in the 12th to win it. Cincinnati catcher Jason LaRue also hit a solo shot in the 5th to give the Red a short-lived lead. Cincy starter Brandon Claussen (2-4) pitched equally as well as Myers for 8 innings. Chris Hammond (0-1) took loss gving up the winner to Howard in the 12th.
The Phils had an open date on Monday and start a 3 game series with the Milwaukee Brewers in Milwaukee tonight.
