When I knew that I’d be starting a baseball blog, I wracked my brain searching for the blog name which would peak the interest of the blogospheric baseball fan and would best typify the theme sought: 60 plus years of great moments — highlight film moments; the great, the horrid and the ugly flavored by real-time commentary on the current season.
Then it occured to me, in yester-year, there used to be a song which opened each pre-game show — I forget whether the pre-game show preceded Phillies games or Major League Games of the Week. But a search now reveals a whole host of links entitled “Talkin’ Baseball.”
So then I did a who-is search of domain names as the possible names started to come to mind a break-neck speed. It’s incredible; all of the great baseball domain names not yet claimed in “.com” — mostly hyphenated, although there were occasional great ones without hyphenation.
But what was “Talkin’ Baseball in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s now is “Blogging Baseball in the blogospheric age of the 21st century.
So there you have it, baseball fans: Blogging-Baseball.com
Welcome and enjoy the melding of the past, present and projected future!
